Skincare Tips for Fall
Fall is here! While you’re enjoying your apple picking, fall treat baking, and pumpkin-spiced everything, it’s crucial that you take time to think of your skin. Your skin changes with the seasons, and the jump from summer to fall weather can be quite drastic.
With a few simple changes in your skincare routine, your skin will be ready for fall (and upcoming winter) months.
Moisturize More (and consider switching to a thicker moisturizer)
Moisturizing is always important, but it becomes even more important in cooler months when your skin is prone to dryness.
Keeping your skin hydrated is one of the most important things when it comes to looking healthy and youthful. Therefore, investing in an effective moisturizer is a must. If you don’t already have a day cream and a night cream for your skin, we highly recommend doing so for fall and winter. You may even want to switch for a thicker day cream during these seasons, if your skin is extra prone to dryness.

Exfoliate less
Due to dry air, your skin will likely become dyer in the cooler months as well. Because of this, exfoliating can actually do more harm than good in some cases. Cut down on your weekly exfoliation routine to avoid over-dried skin.
Keep using sunscreen
Summer might be over, but the sun continues to produce UV rays all year round—whether you’re laying on the beach or not! The skin is the largest organ in your body; it protects you from things like dehydration, sun, bacterial infections, pollution and more. While your skin does its best to stay strong and resilient, there are limits to its ability to keep you safe.
Sunscreen is one of the most important steps in keeping your skin healthy and happy. To learn more about the importance of sunscreen, check out our previous blog here.
Consider booking a facial
Facials aren’t just for relaxation, they are also beneficial investments for your skin! Like we’ve mentioned, your skin changes depending on not only the season and your lifestyle. Therefore, the skincare products that you’re using right now may not be the best choice for your skin in a few months.
A facial is a great way to learn more about what your skin needs, as well as giving it a nice reset for the new season using high-quality professional ingredients, concentrated actives, and devices tailored to your skin.
At The Spa Room, we offer a wide range of customized treatments for your skin. If you’re unsure of what your skincare needs may be, contact us! We want you to love the skin you’re in.
